Busy Memorial Day Weekend
May 28, 2012  By: Jim Bouse

This Memorial Day weekend has been busy for the Bouse household.  Friday, Abigail and I got to spend some "road time" together going to get a new squeeze chute for Papa Sid.  We had to run over to Madisonville to pick it up because they would be closed later this weekend.  Abigail helped me make sure it was secured properly.

We made it home in time for Lauren and I to go furnature shopping for our 3 year anniversary.  Popsy (Bill) stopped by and baby sat while we went to town.  We went to Veritas for dinner and it was a enjoyable evening.

Saturday was spent around the house, being a family.  We relaxed, played, and grilled.  Abigail got to play in the kiddie pool and had a blast.  Saturday night, after dinner, I drove to Bolivar with the new chute to help Mom and Dad install it.

Mom, Dad, and I worked hard on Sunday and a few hours on Monday morning to get the new chute installed and the fence built in the cattle pens.  I must say: the pens are turning out to be very nice!

After we finished working on the cattle pens, I headed back to Kurten.  Lauren and I began a new flower bed a while back with the intention of having climbing roses on the west side of the house to help shade some of the afternoon sun.  I think it turned out pretty good!

You might have asked yourself, "What about Abigail and Lauren?"  Since I was in Bolivar working, they continued to have quality Mommy/Daugher time.  Sunday, they went swimming at the Southwood pool in College Station and Abiail had a blast!  Lauren is very happy to have a little water bug in the house.  Sunday night, they went down to Cypress to visit Lauren's folks.  They managed to find another pool on Monday and went swimming again.  Here is a quck shot of Abigail with her new accessories.

Until next time, just remember: "Everything looks complicated to begin with, but it's surprisingly simple once you understand it."
