Well we have had a fun couple of weeks! Abigail has reached the 18 month mark and she is just so much fun to be with right now. She is growing, learning and exploring her world at a rapid pace. Last week we took Abigail to her first Aggie baseball game at the newly renovated Blue Bell Park at Olsen Field. The new ballpark is awesome and they have added a playground overlooking the outfield which is great because you can take your kids over there when they are restless and still not miss any of the action. And boy did Abigail get restless! Luckily, there weren't too many people on the row sitting with us so we spread out a bit. At one point, Jim and I were sitting with a couple seats between us and Abigail was literally ping ponging, walking back and forth between our legs. Since it was a weekday, she went to daycare in an Aggie t-shirt and shorts ready for the game. But her babysitter pulled out an old Aggie cheerleading outfit that belonged to her daughter and it fit her perfectly. Anyways, here is a picture from the game, see more on the photos page here.
Then last weekend, I took Abigail down to Houston to visit the zoo! I'm not really sure who had more fun at the zoo, me or her (for those who don't know, I really really like zoos). Anyways, we had a blast and Abigail loved seeing all the animals. Her favorites were: the giant turtles, the flamingos, the giraffes, the chimapanzees, and the fish. The Houston zoo now has this really cool giraffe exhibit that you can pay a little extra and go up on this platform and feed the giraffes lettuce. This was definately the highlight of the day. Abigail knew just what to do, she snatched that lettuce out of my hand and without any fear handed it over to this giant giraffe who eagerly took it with his big black tongue. They are such interesting animals. Here is a picture of her feeding the giraffe, see the rest of the zoo pictures here.
And finally, tonight the three of us celebrated Memorial day here at the house with a dinner off the grill. As a special treat we grilled corn on the cob. I was expecting Abigail to be content eating a little corn that I cut off of my cob so we just grilled two cobs. That was a mistake! She saw us eating that and had to give it a try, so here is a video of Abigail's first attempt at eating corn on the cob. Needless to say, I wasn't even upset that I got my corn stolen, I'm just impressed with how well she ate it! She only has five teeth, she's still missing on of her top front ones!
