We are in the home stretch now! 37 days remaining... The baby is growing and moving a lot which I take as a sign that the little tadpole is happy and healthy. Physically I think I am doing pretty well for this stage in the game although some days are better than others. The last few weeks have been quite busy and I have a lot to report.
We had our first baby shower on October 23rd at my parent's house in Houston. Thank you to my beautiful hostesses (Amy, Sarah and Katie) for putting all that together!! (Click on the picture to the right to see the rest of the pictures from the shower) Thank you to all those who attended for all the great stuff. It amazes me how something so small could need so much stuff. We are currently working on sorting through all of it and finding a home for it all in the house. I have managed to wash and fold all the cute little clothes and blankets and such already. Jim helped me fold some of it and seeing his big hands fold teeny tiny onsies really put the size into perspective for both of us.
We our having another shower this upcoming Sunday in Angleton which is being given by Jim's mom and grandmothers. This means even MORE stuff and MORE laundry.... I suppose I need to accept laundry as a regular part of my routine. As a side note on laundry, I suppose I should thank my husband's foresight in going ahead with adding an A/C vent to the laundry room when we recently added one to the nursery. This makes the laundry room much more tolerable, but I can't say it makes it any more enjoyable.
This past weekend, Katie took some maternity photos for us. We set up a make shift studio at my parents and Katie used my camera to take some great pictures. She took a total of 448!!! I have narrowed them down to 42 of my favorites so no one has to look through all of them. I haven't edited any of them but you can view them by clicking on the picture of us. We had tons of fun taking these and hope you enjoy them. This is an exciting and special time for us and I wanted it captured on film.
Last weekend was also my favorite holiday, Halloween!!! I was super excited this year because I got to dress up me and the baby belly! I went as a farmer and the baby went as my freshly picked, prized pumpkin! I cut holes in my overalls and shirt to make room for the belly and I painted my belly with some face paint. Most people couldn't tell it was my skin under there until they touched it or saw the baby move! Jim went as a Roman in a very nice toga. I think he just wanted to re-live his old college toga party days.... Unfortunately we didn't manage to get a picture of Jim in his toga on our camera but we got some pictures of me. We went to a party thrown by our friends Matt and Cortney. I must say they go all out when it comes to halloween decorations! You walked into their house and you feel like you're in the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland. It was tons of fun!
I have carved a pumpkin every year since I can remember for Halloween, for this years pumpkin, I took Jim's idea and carved a gig 'em pumpkin. You can see my work of art in the halloween album by clicking here: "Halloween 2010 Album".
